Transition Area

Warning - Any athlete attempting to remove their bike from transition outside the scheduled times or not using a monitored exit may be disqualified from the race. If you have an emergency please speak to race staff.

Important! Bikes and gear cannot be removed while racers are still undergoing active transitions. This is to ensure racers are not impeded from making forward progress in their race. Please be respectful of the other athletes who are still racing, and to our Transition Staff and Volunteers.

All athletes MUST SHOW their Wristband & BIB Number, (which will match their Bike Number) to get bikes out of transition.

****We want to keep the transition area secure for you and your equipment, we will NOT tolerate people jumping over fences, passing their bikes out over the fence line, or yelling at or harassing our staff and volunteers because they want their gear early. (Anyone who doesn't abide by these rules will be disqualified from results for Un-sportsman like behavior) If you have an Emergency Situation please speak with a member of our staff.

Enjoy the Beer Garden, The Band, and stay for the awards ceremony.

Timing Chip

An blue timing chip on a velcro strap will be included in your packet. You must wear this on your ankle throughout the race in order to receive a time.

Please wear your timing strap on the outside of the ankle and do not cover the timing chip with your wetsuit.

Please return this chip at the finish line. (Chips that are not returned will incur a $30 replacement fee.)

Swim

Wear the supplied colored-swim cap (certain colors go with certain wave start times).

Place one sticker on the front of your helmet

Bike Frame Bib

Place the bike bib # on the left side of the top tube of your bicycle frame (in packet). Numbers must be attached to bikes to allow access in/out of transition areas.

Run

Pin the bib number to the front of your t-shirt or onto your race belt.

Not Finishing the Race

A participant who pulls out of the race or cannot compete for any reason must report to the timing tent to turn in the timing chip band and collect personal gear from the transition area. There is a $30 charge for any timing chip band not turned in.

Note for Aquabike: After your bike, you will dismount just before the dismount sign. When you cross the “Bike in” timing mat, this ends your race. Rack your bike then come to the finish line to get your medal, post race food and enjoy the beer garden if you're over 21. How to do an Aquabike

The Swim

Lost your swim cap?
Please come to registration table and be sure to get the correct color cap. Do not change waves. Swimmers starting in the wrong wave will not receive a time and/or may be disqualified.

Swim Buddies
Swim buddies are there for encouragement only. Please do not rely on a swim buddy to be your personal lifeguard or personal swim course escort at the event. You must be capable of swimming the course on your own. While we do our best to provide swim buddies at each triathlon event, they are not guaranteed.

  • Swimmers should seed themselves according to swimming ability (fast swimmers to the front). Please try to avoid striking or swimming over another swimmer(s).

  • No swimming aids (e.g. fins, kickboards, buoyancy devices) are allowed.

  • A swimmer in need of assistance should roll over on his back and wave to a lifeguard.

  • Swimmers are welcome to warm up in the water when lifeguards are present. People warming up are urged to stay near the shore.
